For my own cover I have the AA, and for my works van I have the RAC. Both of them have turned up within half an hour when needed. So as far as I am concerned, one is as good as the other.
Just a few of months ago the AA sent me my renewal for £168. I immediately phoned them and said they had made a mistake, as the renewal price was way over the top.
I told them that the RAC wanted £78 to give me the same level of cover that were offering.
The AA rep then said that was for new customers only ... I then pointed out that I would be a new customer when I left the AA.
Bottom line is he offerd me the cover for £78 ... that was a saving of £90 just for asking.
Go through Quidco or Top Cash Back and you will save approx £50 and end up with your cover for under £30.
