My husband has just lost his wallet and we have cancelled his cards. Do we need to report it to the police too (in case of any attempted/actual use of his cards)? Thanks (PS - luckily there was no money in it.)

yes you should report it, they will give you a crime number that will help you should you need to make any kind of claim
Yes, I'd definitely report it to the police, and make sure they give you a reference/crime number. Although it wasn't strictly speaking a crime. If your husband has lost it they might not do anything, but it's still worth speaking to them and see what they advice. Especially with all the cards that were in the wallet.

Thank you for your quick answer (thought people might think it was a wind-up).
That would have been dead impressive............

Had qula found your husbands wallet four days before he lost it !! :o)
............but if she had he'd have got it back the day he lost it...........
You will be hard pressed to get any police force to take any record of a lost or stolen credit card. They will tell you to report it to your bank as most forces "no longer deal" with lost or stolen credit cards.

The Home Office have classed certain organisations such as banks as approved investigating agencies, so credit card fraud and bank fraud is passed over to the banks
