pheromone dog collar

my dog gets very anxious when meeting other dogs. and greets them by barking because she's scared. i saw on tv about a phromone collar which calms them down. has anyone tried one on thier dog? and does it work?,

Havnt used one, have heard they dont work when it is wet, or not so good when it is raining. For a different reason, I have used 'juniper pad treatment', which has worked great to calm one of mine down before he goes into the show ring.

Whatever you do don't stop her meeting other dogs as some people tend to do. The more she mixes with them the better she will be. If you take her to the same park each day she will get used to the local mutts.

We once had to put a pheromone dog collar on our vicar to calm him down, much to the relief of the ladies of the Mothers' Union.

On a serious note, I did try a pheromone collar on one of my terriers but unfortunately the other terrier chewed it off him before I got a chance to see if it worked. Waste of twenty quid too!
