In England every time I go through a tunnel, the radio loses reception. Recently, I was in Austria and was about to get annoyed that Tina Turner's Typical Male would be cut off by the tunnel, but to my amazement it wasn't. So my question is this: Does anybody know why going through a short tunnel in England affects the radio, when going through a long tunnel under a mountain elsewhere has little or no affect?
It makes me snigger when I see people on the phone round here, rambling away, only to lose reception completely when they go through the many train tunnels round here.
