I know the EU is often criticised and it may not be perfect, but it does have a shared responsibility for decision making and a European Court of Justice. If there had been a United Europe in 1914 and 1939 isn't it just possible that two world wars could have been avoided? My parents lived through both and a DISunited Europe had much to do with it.

Neither the First nor the Second World War had anything to do with Europe being disunited. I can just imagine the Kaiser and Hitler meekly accepting the diktats of Brussels.
