Royal weddings arent difficult to organise , as money is no object. Id imagine its harder organising a lavish wedding in any UK deprived inner city with horse and carriage and all the pomp and ceremony if the couple to be are on the dole.
Perhaps the excitement of the occasion is rubbing off on you?

Not true that there are 44 DIFFERENT monarchies in the world. Currently, 44 nations in the world have monarchs as heads of state, 16 of which are Commonwealth realms that recognize Queen Elizabeth II as their head of state. So only 29 different "monarchs" and many of those are emirs, sheikhs and sultans who do things a bit differently.
So, not much competition at all.

one thing the British do better than anyone else is embarrassment. MarkRae thinks the wedding is embarrassing. Others think the Olympics will be embarrassing. There's no other nation like the British for imagining that their countrymen will get everything wrong and embarrass them.
