I don't usually post very often but tend to visit the site very regularly just to read through the news or law sections... are there any others out there who tend just to lurk in the shadows not posting very much? If there are then this is a thread for you to declare yourself to the chatting bank world... go on say it... I'M AN AB LURKER AND I'M PROUD!
I lurk every now and then when I have the time to lurk. Most of the time though I think about posting a new thread but then don't do it just in case I get my facts wrong. I only post if I want some advice these days, however there was something I wanted to post but thought against it so I won't.
I'm one of those people that start writing loads of posts then lose enthusiasm before i've finished and delete it before posting... its a bit of an annoying habit I'm trying to break!
hello boxtops and pixi - its quite nice to be recognised here for some reason - so cheers to you two x
I think I may be one of the people Iggy is aiming this thread at.
I suspect there are many like me that have a specific area of interest but aren't into chatting.
I answer questions as and where I can, generally to do with films or tv. But while on the site , I do tend to follow the 'latest posts' so most of the names on this thread are familiar to me, which I guess kinda makes me a lurker...
I lurk and post. There aren't enough hours in the day to post on all the threads I read, and then there are the addictive ones, which take up more time still.
I'm a lurker during the week when its difficult to post from work but good to pop in and out to keep in touch. I also lurk on topics which I'm interested in but not very knowlegable about.
But for those who don't like the word, it is an acceptable term in the urban dictionary for those who follow a forum but do not post; quite harmless and sometimes lack the time or confidence to contribute.
Unlike a troll who's deliberately provocative with the intension to cause disruption.
Hi Iggy - nice to meet you I admit to quite a bit of lurking, but I do join in sometimes. I've also asked help to identify people and places on photos and postcards. That can be quite good fun and for gets quite a few people joining in.
