All refs and assistants are on a continuous assessment scheme and if they do not come up to standard then they are dropped a league the following season or if they are really poor they are suspended until further training has been undertaken and then have a full assessment at every game they do for quite some time.
Players on the other hand feel they know all the rules and what punishment should be given without even attending a course. We know this from the surrounding of the ref and assistants and the constant waving of hands to imply that a card is warranted for the challenge!! Maybe if the refs were allowed to do their jobs without the other 22 refs on the pitch giving advice things would be better.
