I've found an old purse containing 3,000 pesetas in notes. Are they worth anything and if so, is there anywhere I can change them?

Many thanks.

you can still change them at banco de espana, and http://www.bde.es/infoinst/organiza/sucursalese.pdf shows where their branches are located. 3000pta is worth about 15, you will need to decide whether the exercise is worth the effort.

Thanks for that mushroom25. All I need now is to find someone from work who's off to Spain for their hols!
If you think it's not worth the effort, most charities would gladly accept them.
The money exchange bureaux in British airports will taken the old notes and the money is given to charity.
They can only be exchanged at the Spanish Central Bank or with a firm like cash4coins.co.uk
You can still exchange them at The Spanish Main Bank in Spain but here in the UK you need a firm like cash 4 coins who also do notes.
