Apparently the is a remake of the film Total Recall on the way with Colin Farrell in it. I remember when the original came out, though I don't think I got it for a few years later. Anywho, does this make me old?

no, it has more to do with when you were born
I think remakes should be banned....
Lol, flob, it makes me feel old.
There have been remakes ever since the start of films e.g. "The Kiss In The Tunnel" in the 1890s.
I did go to the cinema to see the original (21 years ago). I don't think Kate Beckinsale, in a similar outfit, would be a patch on a sweaty Sharon Stone

Not too sure about a remake though.

some details have been posted on IMDB already http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386703/

I'd love to see a re-make of Neverending Story done with all todays CGI technology etc
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386703/

It's all there, Zeb. Colin Farrell as Doug Quaid/Hauser. Kate Beckinsale as Doug's wife Lori, and Jessical Biel (Possibly) as Melina.
it's extremely early days but there is already a page for The Neverending Story http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1386664/ to be released in 2014
they had to remake Rescued by Rover several times because it was so popular the prints kept wearing out; and that was in silent movie days.

I can't think of anyone who'll replace Michael Ironside for the character of Richter.
10 years before "Rescued By Rover", the first comedy film "Le Jardinier Et Le Petit Espiègle" aka "L'Arroseur Arrosé" (comedy in that it was a visual gag) was released in 1895 and remakes were made almost immediately.
Sorry to go on about early films but DVDs enabled people like me to own films which one would otherwise have very little chance of seeing, let alone owning. I currently have about 300 silent movies dating from 1895 to the end of the 1920s, and am a fan of early cinema.
Thanks for the info Bibble - I look forward to that :-)

Did anyone ever hear of a film called Death at a Funeral. I think it was remade only 3 or 4 years after the original but featured a black cast instead of a white one. At least that is what it looked like to me, I only saw the original.
