Windows Recovery..........

Logged on earlier and had a Windows Recovery box appear, I tried to get rid of it but it wouldn`t budge, I shut the pc down and started it up again and did a system restore thingy and now all my documents and favorites list have gone

If I right click on a page and try to add it to my favorites a box appears saying this is already in there etc etc, so does this mean they are in the pc somewhere locked away?

Any ideas how to get them back?
