Britains terror alert status has changed to 'severe'.
Hasn't it always been this way though?
It's all really scary to me :-(
Wouldn't the terrorists go for big Events like Olympics etc. Or do you think they will just hit anywhere.
Wish everyone would just get on with life and be happy :-(

It's probably easier to strike smaller targets than big events actually from a security perspective.
There's absolutely no point in being scared, i feel no different to how I did last week about the whole thing. You can't predict any of the actions and I'm sure those that are doing their best to stop this sort of thing will continue to do so. Life is too short to be scared of this sort of thing and by being scared and not just going about your business as normal is exactly what extremists want so why give them the satisfaction.
Being alert is sensible. Being scared is a non-starter.

lylabella, if you live your life in a state of scared, they've won. We need to show that life goes on - we can't live our lives assuming everything will be awful. If anything should kick off, there is precious litle we ordinary folk can do about it except be extra vigilant, report anything odd, and keep ourselves as safe as possible - but that's what we'd do anyway, these days. I never get on an aeroplane without hope that we'll arrive safely, every time I go through Gatwick I go as quickly as I can (a few weeks back it was heaving with armed cops and sniffer dogs, we didn't know why). I am trying to make the most of my daily life, and keeping alert. We have the docks and Eurostar and the Channel Tunnel near here - they'll be on alert. MI5 and the CIA will be doing their stuff.
