I wonder imagine it does exist, try leaving a lit candle next to the curtains and go out of the house, when you come back you won't have a house at all as it will have burnt down so the candle (and the curtains and everything else in your house) would therefore have existed without you seeing them! (Not that they would exist now LOL).

Some answering devices have a monitoring function so you can call home and listen to your house burning down, at least until the wires melt.
