You won't manage to compress an MP3, but you can split it up. Be sure not to package it as a self-extracting .exe because many mail systems just bounce these too as an anti-virus measure. Easiest way is to post them to the web somewhere and email the link, but the recipient may not have web access...
If Winzip seems to complicated for you, consider using a small, easy to use, free program called 'The File Splitter', available from http://www.dekabyte.com/filesplitter/TFS_121.zip
. You can use that to split any type of file.
p.s. Don't forget to also send the .bat file so the recipient can easily reconstruct the file.
