Witchcraft vs. Wickedness
Further to a recent post about the horrific and terrifying practice of modern-day witchcraft, I would like to hear your thoughts about the causes of wickedness.
The witchcraft story to us looks abhorrent, because it doesn't make sense to us, perhaps because we don't revel in our savagery.
But what causes wickedness like this:

You can't blame religion or even call the parents 'savages' (as some bigots are wont to do).
So what's the explanation?
And how comes the bigots didn't feel the urge to post questions about this equally horrific crime? Were the parents not black enough?

You get pure evil/wickedness in every culture, bar none that I can think of off hand. The people in the case you put forward do not seem to have any reason or belief system for their actions. The earlier post Witchcraft 2011 highlights that these people believe their misfortune is the fault of others and that's why they do what they do. We were still burning witches in this country till about three hundred years ago.

I'm sure i read somewhere, now i could be wrong, that the little girl had spina bifida. That could be an explanation why she was kept in this hideous condition. And before anyone says that's no excuse at all, i agree it isn't, for the likes of you and me, but it might be their excuse or their reasoning.
If we understood wickedness we would be onto a winner. Unfortunately we dont so this sort of thing will continue to crop up, regardless of race colour or creed.
Witchcraft is perhaps something we dont fully understand in the West. Often in the West we criticise other cultures in other continents because they dont conform to our own ideas and values. Witchraft practiced in the UK of course is a different problem and it should conform or operate within our values and principles.
As for why no one posted on the second case, you appear to have done so quits now ?

I don't think I need to answer your main points, as birdie1971 has answered them superbly and nothing that I could say would improve on that answer.
What I would like to address however is the following sentence of yours.
/// The witchcraft story to us looks abhorrent, because it doesn't make sense to us, perhaps because we don't revel in our savagery. ///
You say the witchcraft story to us looks abhorrant.......
Well let me add, it should not only look abhorrent, but it is abhorrent, to any civilised person, no matter what their beliefs.
Tut, tut, sp didn't you notice that you used the word 'SAVAGERY' in your sentence, don't tell me you are becoming a 'Bigot'?

I hear what you're saying, but the only reason I posted about this case is to highlight the fact that racists on this site will ignore a story when the 'baddies' are White, but when exactly the same story occurs where the perpetrators are black, (and I assume this is because they are bigots and hypocrites) they leap to assign blame due to (and exclusively because of) the race of the perpetrators.
It's often difficult understanding the motives behind the common or garden bigot. It seems like they don't understand that everyone knows what they're up to.
