Hello, an e.mail, seemingly from Yahoo! has just appeared in our inbox over the last couple of days, asking us to upgrade our e.mail system. We're a bit reluctant to do this, as we're worried that it's spam and a big hoax. Does anyone out there know whether this is a "kosher" e.mail and is, in fact, really from Yahoo!?

Hope you can help soon,

Many thanks, Chox.

If it involves clicking a link within the e-mail, then it's almost certainly a fake.
Ignore any links inside emails sent to you. Go to the websites direct. Also be aware of typing the website address. Always setup shortcuts or add to favourites with regard to the websites you use most often.

Thanks folks. Just had another look at the e.mail "from" Yahoo. It asks you to upgrade the browser by clicking on a button within the e.mail. There's no link to click on within the body of the e.mail as such, just this "update your browser". Still think I should avoid it like the plague? I'm inclined to do so and look at the real Yahoo website as suggested by TTG. Speak soon, Chox.
I received the same email. Its optional. If you ignore it (which you should if you feel worried) then Yahoo will upgrade you in the near future anyway. Bit naughty of Yahoo to ask you to click on links in emails though...everyone is taught to be vigilant about this these days...
the last time this happened my yahoo mail came to a standstill, ended up reverting back to the original...
Last time the BCC function wasn't working so I reverted back as well - let's see this time....(in fairness though it is a beta)

OH and I have decided to ignore it. We always thought that Yahoo upgraded you anyway, whether or not you wanted it. So it's going in the "trash can".
Cheers for all your advice today. Chox.
I have received this in my multiple yahoo accounts so think it is authentic. However I have tried the link twice and the page never loads!
