Watched this cos I couldn't be bothered to get up and change channels (dog chewed remote) and kept thinking it would liven up - was like watching paint dry. Could have been done in ten minutes.

Same here, I couldn't be bothered to get up & go to bed & I kept waiting for it to become more interesting.......it didn't. I used to like J le M very much.

Hattie was selfish, but was nt John stupid for putting up with it all. There again some people will do anything when they love their partner so much.

But it did say he had also had affairs! He seemed so slow that I'm amazed he had the gumption.

I saw this too and could not believe of Hattie!! Quite an eye opener.

I enjoyed it very much. Thought the acting was superb and the recreation of the era was spot on.

Hattie, sure did enjoy herself, but apparently they had quite an open marriage anyway and John wasn't exactly angelic. Quite shocking behaviour though for the early 60's.

I saw it first time round a few weeks ago, I thought it was excellent. Ruth Jones was ideal casting as Hattie.

Oh dear. I didn't see it but I've always loved Hattie Jacques. You lot have put me off her now :(
