Calculating Gas Bill....

Mrs jth and I swapped to British Gas, on their Standard Tariff earlier this year.
Today we have had our first Gas Statement in.

We have two parts to the bill; from Jan 27 to Feb 8 we used 590.59 kWh.
The first 95 kWh is charged @7.061p, the remainder @ 3.265p per kWh.

So far, so understandable................but.........

9 Feb to 4 May we used 2585 kWh, and this time
624 kWh is charged @7.061 with the remainder @ 3.265p per kWh.

Can anyone point me in the direction of discovering how the tariff is applied as these 2 sets of figures don't seem to correlate with each other ?
Or do they and I'm being slighter more dim today than usual...........? :o/

the 7.061 is charged for the first X (7.34 for BG) amount of KwH per day and anything after that is charged at tier 2 charges.

So for the second period it would have been 624/7.34 = 85 days that you went over the first 7.34Kwh and the remainder would be at the tier 2 charge

(Does that make sense :))
