If folk want to ask for answers, that's up to them. If other folk want to have a look for answers themsels then surely it's easy enough to avoid looking at the questions about the quiz posted here.

The quizsetter added the following paragraph to the front page of their quiz :-

REQUEST: I would be grateful if people would refrain from posting the questions on-line before the end of May, to give others a chance to have a go themselves. Many thanks for your support.

Given the amount of time taken to compile ,print and distribute the quizzes I think it is a perfectly reasonable (and polite) request.

The comment by The Corbyloon is a perfect example of everything that is wrong about the Answerbank

QuizmasterG used to ask for quiz answers in the past and even got grief for doing so, but then became virtuous and now chastises anyone for doing exactly what he/she used to do. The quiz equivalent of one of those rabid ex-smokers one has the misfortune to meet.

There is nothing wrong with AnswerBank, but there IS, with a few that use it to castigate and criticise others, and they have no authority so to do ! AnswerBank is for asking questions and receiving answers IN ANY TIMEFRAME, and Quiz setters who advertise their quizzes on AnswerBank should NOT set time limits for posing queries. Just make sure that you collect the entry fee BEFORE dispatching the quiz to the participant. And finally, Quiz Solvers, ask for ANSWERS not for further meaningless clues.

QuizmasterG, I was well aware of the request, hence ma suggestion that folk who don't want to know the answers by getting them from here could avoid looking at questions relating to the quiz. It's not a difficult concept to grasp, is it?

Have you considered the fact that having questions posted about the quiz may add to the publicity and therefore generate more income?

I have considered that last fact and it has been discussed on other sites. I get the impression that if questions on particular quizzes are asked too early, a lot of people won't even bother sending for them as they know that any skill or researched answers will be totally wasted due to the numpties who are too lazy to look for themselves.

By all means use this site if you wish but give people a chance to have a go at a quiz for at least a little while before leaping in with both feet!!
