two numbers would give the grand prize of £2.50. It's nothing to get excited about. I'll take the ticket to the shop later and see if I get anything.

There was a time when 50/= would have paid for a good evening out. Tram fare into town, two drinks, the best seats in the cinema, a tripe and chips supper in a fancy café, and the tram fare back home.
