i asked some questions here about phobias a while ago and decided to have a little search online for others with similar experiences as i just had a minor 'episode' when trying to get some pills out of a small tray compartment...! (i get a find of intense weird feeling when i try to do fiddly things like change the cotton on a sewing machine etc)

only related things i could find were my 2 answerbank questions!!

am i that unusual? surely others get this too..!

cheers

What was the search term?

And it's not unusual, but it does seem that you're awesome.

Spare.
if you only used two words in your search term You might have a Googlewhack!

Although, if they're used here it'll be indexed very shortly...
Ah it was 2 hits (questions) so no googlewack.

alas no googlewhack - but both were the same post though (i think), just different bits of it...!
there were some other listings but they were totally unrelated to what i was looking for and were just looking at individual words, so useless

ta spare! haha
I get an itchy sensation at the backs of my knees, the crook of my elbow and between my fingers and toes when I have attmepted several times to do something fiddly and haven't been successful, is that the same sort of thing?

sophie - it could be,,,its not really 'itchy' though - it hard to describle...its like a niggly sensation inside, i feel like i cannot have any skin touching itself - like fingers, armpits, thighs etc and have 'splay' out for a minute to relieve it...but in a kind of 'urgent' and tense way...ive tried to ignore it to see if a can get it to go away but it builds up and i cant stand it....i feel like its claustrophobia - but inside my own body!

i spoke about it one another thread and someone pointed out that its perhaps a phobia of restriction and just linked to claustrophobia (there are other symptoms too)

its doesnt happen all the time, but if i think it might, it will set it off...

doess it sound similar to yours?
Sounds similar but mine is relieved by rubbing my hands together (fingers intertwined), spreading and clenching my toes or scratching legs/arms. But it's definitely a sort of feeling that my skin doesn't feel comfortable and yes is an urgent feeling; I used to get it a lot more as a child though.
