Malta
Has anybody been to the Topaz Hotel in Bugibba Malta? What is it like and is the area nice? Any reports would be helpful. Will I need an adaptor for the electric plugs. TIA.

Buenchico thank u very much for your wonderful advice and comments, never been to Malta before. Was suppose to go there 20 years ago for our honeymoon but the travel agency went bust, and we ended up going to Portugal. I have always wanted to see what I might have missed so we are going for a second honeymoon!!! I read the comments on trip advisor and some rane as u say from excellent to terrible but I am just glad to be going on holiday. Once again thanks for your help.
Don't know the hotel, but have been to Malta many times, my favourite place is St Julian's, (or St. George's, a bit off the beaten track! but really nice) I always try to stay there, a short trip by bus or Water Taxi to Valetta, it's lovely!............not keen on Bugibba personally, not a lot of character!................but if you choose to go there, I hope you enjoy!............not too far from the ferry to Gozo, a visit there is a must!..............
Thank u all for your help we are going in May boxtops and really looking forward to it haven't been on holiday for 5 years. Will avoid the love table tambourine and welshlibranr going to visit lots of places u mentioned as we like to look round where we visit. Hope the weather will be nice and warm, will b nice to have some warm sun on my old bones!!!!
bestmum, the weather in May should be glorious, the buses there used to be so cheap, very old british ones!........crazy drivers, but good fun!... not sure about now, haven't been for a few years, but you could go anywhere on the island for a few pennies!...........hope you enjoy exploring!......if you get the chance to go on a boat trip to Valetta Bay in the evening, it's stunning!..........have a great time!............
Just an update on my holiday in Malta. Stayed in the Topaz Hotel in Bugibba and it was terrible . It was a right dump the rooms werent cleaned properly the food was terrible. Some of the food we had as carvery in the night time would be served cold the next day. The indoor pool was supposed to be heated it wasnt and there was supposed to be a jacuzzi and a sauna but we couldnt find it. The facilities were not the ones that were advertised on the website. The area was also very run down and lots of places had closed down. We asked to be moved but was told it would cost us more money so we came back a week early. Valetta was lovely but i was really dissapointed and upset as i had waited for 5 years to visit Malta and that what happens. Hopefully they will give us some money back to book another holiday.x
