Simply because I can't be bothered to get up and change channel I am listening (BBC 4 Extra) to a recording of GP doing a stand-up session when he was in Edinburgh some time ago. He really is poor.

It could be worse, Scotman. I'm listening to the Eurovision Song Contest on Radio 2. (Yes, I know it's sad!!!).

It's actually quite unusual for my radio not to be tuned to Radio 4 Extra, so it's good to know that I'm not missing much! ;-)
(I enjoyed The Dreaded Batter Pudding Hurler of Bexhill-upon-Sea earlier though, even though I've got in on tape!)

I think my problem is that I find GP's voice quite unpleasant. When coupled with poor quality material/presentation style it really becomes very grim
I haven't listened to ESC for years.
I have a lot of Goons on CD now and some stuff taped from radio over the years. Must upload to PC sometime.

Does Henning Wehn's nasal twang annoy you as much as it does me?
(Which is a pity really, because he's actually a very intelligent comedian, with some good material - but his voice really irritates me. It's not because he's German, it's just the 'nasality' of it).

I wouldn't like to listen to HW for long periods either, fortunately I only hear him on The News Quiz so it is not too bad.
