In what circumstances would this be printed in a chinese passport ?

"......The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China requests all civil and military authorities of foreign countries to allow the bearer of this passport to pass freely and afford assistance in case of need....."

That's probably in EVERY Chinese passport!

It sounds remarkably similar (allowing fort cultural and political differences) to:
"Her Britannic Majesty's Secretary of State Requests and requires in the Name of Her Majesty all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance, and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary", which is in every British passport.

It sounds like the standard wording inside a Chinese passport to allow the holder to travel without hindrance. Something similar is written inside UK passports - Her Britannic Majesty`s Secretary of State requests ......the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance etc
