cold tap won't fully turn off!
5 Answers
Our bath cold tap won't fully turn off, so it has a constant drip/flow,
I have changed the washer ( no joy)
Changed the whole headgear (still no joy)
Relutant to buy new taps cause these are mixer taps that was not cheap and not really that old (less than 3yrs!)
Is there a way to adjust the headgear?
Many thanks in advance

Are you sure you used the correct parts in the work you did?
You can do the reseating yourself if you get one of these tools.

Many years ago, I had a similar problem with a standard tap. I attacked it with a tap re-seating tool – but the groove in the metal washer seat was so deep that it did not work.
I discovered that my local plumber’s merchant sold washers that had an integral very short run of tubing protruding from one side (from memory, they were fabricated from plastic rather than rubber). The washer sits over the metal washer seat – with the tubing locating the washer in position. I would assume such washers are available in differing sizes.
