Seems the council tax isnt such a big expense when you stop and think about it.

Don't be so dismissive teddy, it is not everyone who knows how things work. I like using them but have no interest otherwise and your link unfortunately does not mean a thing to me. However, - don't fash yourself, - tomorrow I will have a look at my tv and work things out for myself. Tonight (or more correctly this morning) I am feeling tired and so will not keep you any longer. In other words, I'm off to bed.

Right, I understand your second link and have watched a bit of it. Will watch it completely tomorrow. Thank you.

I didnt consider her a sponger.Though i suppose if she didnt have cats she would be able to use the food money for her daughter. But where do you stop if you get so critical of peoples lifestyles?
Haven't watched the whole thing yet but thought she could have given her daughter sandwiches or something and was too quick to dismiss the help offered with lifts home from school. Just because the bloke was late for the first day she could have given someone else another chance. The one that got on my nerves was the young girl who kept going on about having a torch. It was only their street that was in darkness so she only had to walk to the end of the road in the dark!

i thought the woman with the disabled father was a bossy cow and so did her hubby . she was too quick to callt he other woman a bigot. she wasnt a bigot justthought janette was a bossy cow.
Starbuck, if you are in Virgin then you'll have the iplayer. Press the Home button on your remote, then Catch Up TV on Demand, then All Channels and the first on the list is BBC iplayer - they don't have every programme that's been shown, but the own Teddy's talking about is in the Factual section and you might find it easier to watch on TV depending on the size of your PC monitor. x
I forgot it was on
It sounds like just the kind of thing I would like too
One of the guys that took part was on breakfast tv on Monday morning.
He gave the impression that some of the participants fought like ferrets in a bag

i did stop and think about janettee. she drove a mercedes and was a drama teacher her hubby was a manager for tescos/asdas warehouse.i did wonder couldnt her father move in with themm to solve the loneliness?and as for her going on about shopping well he had a pc so could order online from asda tesco etc .before the welfare state they would have looked after grandparents , something that some of the ethnic communities in the UK still seem to do.she did protest a lot but didnt seem to want to put herself out too much.
Question Author
Sorry i meant elderly parents not grandparents.
I thought Tracie should have given that guy another shot at collecting her daughter.
A packed lunch isn't too much to ask.
Breakfast and after school clubs only when required - I'm not sure if she just used them each day regardless of her study/training days.
Her eldest daughter should have looked for a part time job to fit around her studies too.

But the housing benefit, although it was quite a lot, I felt she could have received a more positive response if she had made the above changes.

I still think the neighbour's comment was awful.
Question Author
true. i do think its exposed how the welfare state has replaced peoples sense of community. its expected that the authorities will do stuff that only 50 years ago people would do themselves without a thought.its a sad reflection on society as a whole.Even though it was only a small experiment i think a lot of the results would be replicated on a grander scale.
Who knows, Teddy. Less of the closed door approach could be a good thing, not only for the community but for the economy too.
Question Author
I wont complain about my council tax again after watching this.I think its very good value considering what they had to pay even to dump their household rubbish
Agreed! :) I'm off to bed now, Teddy. Thanks for the chat.
Night :)
