Hi Squad, I wondered if you could give me a bit of info please regarding my ex's smear test result as she's quite worried and would appreciate some advice pending her appointment.
She had a normal cervical smear test last month but has now been asked to have a uterine biopsy as there were endometrial cells present in her test. She was investigated a few years ago as she had irregular bleeding and was found to have a thickened uterine lining (after a scan) which they said needed no treatment. We have been apart for a while now and apparently the inter menstrual bleeding has increased as has the severity of her proper periods. She is 42, otherwise fit and well, not overweight, non smoker, non drinker, non drug taker has had seven children ( normal births) and several miscarriages.
Please let me know if you need any more info, as she's got herself in a tizz about it probably being cancer. Thanks in advance.
Nox...just got back from breakfast.....sorry for the delay.
This does not smack of uterine cancer.
Endometrial cells in a cervical smear is not unusual and is not diagnostic of any particular disorder.
I would have thought that two benign uterine conditions come to mind:
Thank you so much Sqad. She's off to see the Dr on Thursday but was having an uncharacteristic meltdown about it. I'll let you know how it goes on. Thanks again.
Thank you ladies. I'm glad that sorted it out for you lottie. I know her and her new partner were trying for a baby last year but it ended in a miscarriage so maybe your solution isn't too outlandish.I'll let you know how things go on:)
Blimey thank you Ron, the credit really though goes to my ex whose just about the very best person I ever met- very easy to still care about, but thank you, I'm very touched.
