Has the digital switch over arrived? I'm in the central area and it says that the digital switch over started March 2011, so I'm assuming that it's hit us. But the question is: how do I do the switch over, I thought it was automatic?!?
You need to get a freeview box, digital TV or a satellite/cable system to continue viewing when analogue is switched off in your area. If you don't have a digital TV/Sky/cable or your aerial isn't up to scratch then you're screwed.
You need to retune your tv. It tries for digital signals first and then it'll do an analogue scan if it doesn't pick anything up. Presumably when you tuned the tvs at first they didn't pick up a digital signal and tried for analogue. Now you need to start again and they should find the digital signal.
You may need an aerial upgrade. Digital signals are much more fussy when it comes to the integrity of your antenna and the cables between that and your TV.
im in the central area too,
and ive just discovered ive not got any channels either!
im just doing a scan now on my free view box,
and its found '0' channels..
tut .... gawd... what happens now?!
I know - I'm on cable, but I just bought a new aerial for my daughter's room for the switchover next week, but looking at that site I now don't know if I've bought the right kind. Why can't they just leave things alone...?
