"it was the assumption that Ireland should now move on. "
The alternatives being that Ireland should either stand still or move backwards.
Try telling that to redhelen then suezy
I agree with supersuzey24 most have moved on me included and of the same few who tried to disrupt the visit one of them on the radio the other night couldnt even name the six counties! the others tried to burn the union jack while wearing british football jerseys so that will tell you the type of people who tried to disrupt the visit who needles to say had no jobs to go to on tuesday.I am so glad its gone well I think its a great step forward.
Trionam, the absolute hypocrisy of these uneducated morons was, as you said that the majority all wore English football jerseys whilst trying to set a British Flag alight which they got free when they bought a well known ENGLISH newspaper!! Idiots! Guarantee they are not out protesting today as they have more pressing engagements re collecting their dole.

Joeluke, Not everyone will have the same opinion as me, Redhelen is entitled to her opinion as much as the next person, although I would imagine what redhelen has taken some offence to is the insinuation the Irish should now move on.

Bobbi that's what I meant the majority have moved on.., the idiots who protested the other day would not be able to explain the history never mind justify their protestations.

Noraq, Doubt Mary McAleese will be forgotten once her presidency is over eh?;)

We can boast 2 marvelous Woman Presidents....lets hope we get the chance to vote another strong woman in Supersuzy...and not some old male fossil by way as reward for his 'service' to public life!!
The only one I know of who is running is David Norris and I don't see why I should vote for him...
I agree Supersuzy...nice bloke an all...but...it's early days yet..let's see who throws their hat in the ring. How about yerself? any plans for the next 5 years? =)
Well I am unemployed..hehehe
Go for it then Suzy..I believe the pay is good and you get to travel a lot!!

Oh ...an you get tickets to all the rugby and GAA you want!!
I'd raffle them off, except for matches with Dublin or Kilkenny :)
Didn't Christoper Isherwood write a book, 'Mr Norris changes trains'? Is that the same Mr Norris?
Well the visit has reinforced my desire to visit the country of my grandparents and view the sights of the Easter rising et al
So I would say that makes it a win win situation
