Should stay or should I go?

My college exams finish tomorrow and a group from my class is going to a girl's party (also from our class, but who I'm not friends with) who invited the whole class to her party regardless. I want to go out and celebrate my exams being finished but all of my close friends are going home for summer for various reasons so they wont be going to the party. I am kind of friends with one of the guys going to the party but the rest of the group would be better friends with eachother than I am with any of them,, so if I go there might be a few of those situations where everyone's having fun/ a private joke and I might feel like a bit of a loose knob.. If I go I'll be getting a train up with the group you see... So my question is, should I just go and stop worrying about the possibility that I'll feel left out or like a 10th wheel (ha) or how do I deal with such a situation if it does happen? The other option is to sit at home on my own (ehhhh ew!) but I just feel kind of nervous at the prospect of hanging around with a group of friends ... Any advice would be WELL appreciated :-O

GO
.. and let your hair down : )
(nothing else, mind)
If you`re going on the train with the group then you will get a chance to mingle with them a bit. You could always tell yourself you`re only going for one or two drinks then you won`t have it in your mind that you`re there for the duration. If it`s good you stay, if it`s not, you can leave.
Maybe you could have a chat with the person you know the best and say you would love to go but you're a little bit nervous as you don't really know the others well. I'm sure that person will realise and make the effort to keep you involved in everything. Plus, once the drinks get flowing if you're anything like me you'll end up being best friends with them all by the end of the night.
Dont worry - after a few drinks you will be friends with everyone lol ! Enjoy it, relax and have fun, just be yourself.....you will regret it if you dont go.
Go! You will meet new friends and have a great time. Just go and enjoy yourself! Life is too short to waste on sitting at home all the time ... at least at your age, lol! Have a great time!
You decide whether you are a social enough individual to cope in these situations or not. Can you enjoy yourself when you know few of those there, or are you the sort that sticks there in a corner wondering why you came ? Only you can really answer that.

That said the more you face situations outside your comfort zone the more you reach a stage when they are less of a problem for you.

If you do go then IMO you deal with situations by playing them by ear. Surely you'd just get stressed out working out a tactic for every eventuality.

And recall, whatever you decide, it's only one party in a whole lifetime.
