It was also said, years ago when there were LOADS of pubs in Liverpool, that if you stopped to ask directions, you got an answer 'in pubs'. Turn right at The Lion, then second left at The Grapes, then your first right at The Legs of Man....etc

yes Arti, when I was going out in Liverpool when I was just about old enough to go to pubs (or maybe not!) with my cousins, that's what it was like, a pub on every corner, and all thriving!..............good old days!..............Goodnight now!............sleep well!....
