hi my baby is only 6 weeks old and she has had a really babd cough since 2 weeks old i went to the doctors and said she had a chest infection so we had antibiotics for 7 days and she is still coughing 4 weeks on ive been to the doctors and they say she was a mucusy baby but her chest is clear. Should i take her up the hospital??

I dont think that would be necessary from what youve said but as she is so young and you are obviously worried maybe make another GP appointment and get a 2nd opinion? Ask them to explain and reassure you why she is still coughing even after antibiotics. Coughs do go on for ages but a good doctor shouldnt mind checking a young baby out again and giving mum some reassurance.

ive been to the doc's 3 times and they say it will go very soon, she also had a very stuffy nose which the doc gave saline nasal spray which has given her bloody bogeys.

Is she bottle fed? If so, then maybe she is mucusy because the formula doesn't agree with her and you could try another brand. Even as a grown adult, I can get like that after drinking milk or yoghurt.

she may also be allergic to something. Maybe worth seeing if the doc can give an antihistamine to such a young child?

was your little one wheezing at all? Could have been something like bronchiolitis - very common in babies and the cough takes ages to clear up x

shes not wheezy but seems to cough alot more at night and she does sneeze loads because of her sneezing shes burst the blood vessels in her nose and eye.
