What's happening? Is AB now automatically refreshing? I have firefox and I keep getting the "Connecting" caption with the circle going round. Is this a recent thing? Can I turn it off?

Latest Posts refreshes after a minute interval (I believe) or sooner if someone has posted on a thread.

Where is the circle going round? Is it in the tab bar?

I'm using firefox and the above is normal for my pc.
AB's page is designed, in part, to auto-refresh. Otherwise the 'Latest Posts' box wouldn't update itself. It seems that Firefox 4 is recognising the changes as reloading the page. I'm unaware of any way of switching the message off.

It's the tab label that shows the message, usually when several tabs are open at once.
Chris I'm on firefox 3 and am rather partial to my little tab bar and the white box in bottom of screen with the little orange squares to fill it up. (I know, I'm in the stone age when it comes to my pc) It works and that makes me happy :D

My teen son told me off for using Firefox, he swears by Google Chrome.

I'm a complete technophobe.

yes it's on the tab bar. I think it's a firefox thing because at work we have IE and I haven't noticed it there. Is there Firefox option that I can turn off?
That's called the throbber.
Only way to change it is to add a different theme.
Very few themes allow you to turn off completely tho.
