can anyone reccomend a shampoo or treatment that works for this?
I thought my daughter had a million nits in her hair until i realised they were flakes of skin!
I've been letting her wash her own hair lately (after her begging me to) and don't think she's been rinsing enough.
We've never had this problem before, so I'm sure we can sort it ourselves, but don't want to buy things that may make it worse.

my 6 year old had this, same problem i think, not rinsing enough, or more to the point, not allowing me to rinse it enough. I just solved it by making sure i thoroughly rinsed it the next time and it cleared up immediately.
why not try going back to a baby shampoo like dentinox for cradle cap? My 3 year old still gets flaky skin and this clears it up

that's interesting boo, do you think i should try that before buying Tgel or whatever?

funny you should say that red, i was just telling my mum and i said it looks like cradle cap!
good idea.
Yeah, definitely go down the thoroughly rinsing the hair route (or should that be root- heh?) first, even if you have to do it yourself, before buying alternative shampoo, not that Red's suggestion isn't a good one!
You could try rubbing a few drops of olive oil into the scalp, leave over night and then comb out the flakes using a fine-toothed comb. Once done wash and rinse thoroughly. Repeat as necessary.
In my humble opinion crisgal.. I am a hairdresser.. I would guess she's not rinsing her hair enough!...Before you put Dentinox.. Tgel etc on her.. some of them are quite harsh..(.I know that doesn't apply to Dentinox).. try ordinary baby shampoo... very gentle.. does the job.. smells nice too!! Good Luck xx Mrs crisper
