To quote the Bard, “Rough winds doth shake the darling buds of May”! For the last week, the only gardening I have been able to do is to stake up the taller plants before they are flattened by the gusting winds. In other words, weeding and clearing borders have come to a halt. Blossom trees and Lilac trees have had their moment of glorious colour and their withered flowers now lie browning on the earth.

Following on from last week’s Chat, I note that slaney has truly excelled herself this week. Yesterday saw the birth of twins, Lara and Alec, grandchildren of a delighted slaney. Children and parents are doing well and I am sure you’ll join me in congratulating all concerned. This event is much better than picking up a prize for a cryptic crossword!

You too may well be able excel by “standing by” tomorrow morning at 08.45am, ready for the launch of MM Links with the final four words of King Wickedtongue to be predicted being declared at 9.00am. Remember that early MM hits gain bonus points! As usual, I ask that you should also look-out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz (Roo-land) and is my good friend, “seekeerz”. She is truly the “Wizard-ess of Oz.

However, as I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” You have nothing to lose. Both games remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards to trace progress through each monthly contest. This weekend will see the winners of the May Honours and (as far as MM Links are concerned) the May Champion will be responsible for setting the MM Links across the month of June. There are several entrants well placed to win the final dash to the line.

Until we meet again, may I wish you ~ “Happy Linking”!

:o)
Wonderful news. How is the Delighted Slaney doing tho :D
That's excellent news for Slaney and her family! :-))

Quite a few things have been damaged with the wind here too Crofter.
I have a visitor from Salisbury staying from today. :-)
many congrats to the proud parents and grandmother
welcome to the new twins
grandchildren are great
xx
Firstly, many congrats to slaney and her family.

Secondly, I should point out that Pauline's spellchecker seems to have, mistakenly, changed "victim" to "visitor".

p.s. Pauline are you attributing the "wind damage" to your "visitor"!!
Congratulations to the parents of Lara and Alec and to Grandma Slaney. Hope you will be able to visit often.
Strix...he did have mushy peas for tea!
....and I am the victim.
>ushy peas can be aromatic for about 48 hours :(
What a treat, Pauline, the poor victim drives all the way up through the barbarian territories north of the M4 and the reward for his courage and daring, at Cellar Vie, is a dinner of "mushy peas"!
Poor deluded fool to have ventured forth on such a derring-do.
LOL albaqwerty. :-)
Hey Strix...the visitor has just informed me he had beans en route for lunch! The floorboards will vibrate tonight!
Memo to self: must check Met Office website in the morning to see the wind drift patterns.
Bad enough with Iceland volcanoes but sarumite's emissions ......................!
Well done, Slaney. You'll be in great demand before you can blink an eye.
Strix ...it would have to be gale force at least.
Thanks very much for the good wishes - they are, as all newborns, tiny and wonderful.

I think all this crossword malarkey will have to take second, or third, place over the next few weeks!
lovely news. slaney ... good to hear all is well
