Is there a way to find out who owns the fancy plates we see around and about?

I would hope not! I have a cherished plate and i wouldnt want anyone seeing it and then being able to find out who I am! You can apply to the DVLA for details but this is now very secured and you have to have a damn good reason to want to know who owns a vehicle and also have to pay a fee.

I have just bought My son a cherised plate for his 21st that`s why I was asking

You can go to the RAC website, type in a number plate and get basic info, like...car make, colour, date registered, how many previous owners, but nothing directly linking a name to a car.
