Reward for information on stolen Stradivarius

A reward of £15000 for information leading to the recovery of the Stradivarius violin stolen in December last year was offered by the insurance company. When my son had his bag stolen on a Greyhound bus some years ago, the insurance company rejected his claim because he was not taking sufficient care of it - he was asleep, admittedly, with the bag between his legs. But this seems no different from the story about the violin - the violinist (who did not own the violin) put it down while she had a snack at Euston station, and it was taken without her noticing.
Most policies have an exclusion clause to stop people claiming when they have been careless, so I was wondering if the insurance company would be likely to pay out.

i think it's perfectly likely that someone with a stradavarius has a better insurance policy than someone with "a bag"!

and a Stradivarius is an historical item, a bag you can collect in any high store selling bags.
It's quite funny you expect the same of your insurance company lol - made me chuckle anyway

correct - but this wouldnt have been your normal policy - and they would have been paying the premium to reflect that.
