What is wrong i did not deserve this?

This woman at work had a joke with me and i had a joke back (about my age)
And i apologized twice to her and she said fine.
But on the way home a car pulled up and this guy got out and attacked me and the woman was with him he said to me never talk to her again.
But i ignored him and kept saying hi to her. and she kept blanking me.
I do not know why she said its fine to me when i said sorry then got me attacked.
And she said to the guy i (as in me) am not worth it.
The joke was me being 26 and i said she is only 23 (it was not anything nasty or rude)
On my last day she phoned down and was laughing at me.
She may feel guilty for causing trouble or she just hates me most likely.

The joke was she said to me you look about 24 and i said really you look about 29 then i said i was only joking and then i apologized twice and she said thats fine then i was walking home and got attacked.
