Every day this week there has been at least 1 Charity Collector in the Foyer of my local Morrisons Supermarket. There were 2 on Wednesday !
I do give to certain Charities i.e RNLI, Fireservice, Help for Heroes etc but if I gave to them all I would be in need of Charity myself.
When you politely decline some seem to think that you are heartless by not giving.
Any one else see things this way ?.

Collections have to be licensed and when I have been involved, we are told that we may not approach people or rattle the tin, unless the public approach us first.
boxtops, there's a lot of tin rattling down my way!...........I hate it!........

Our local Big Issue seller seems to have lost his job to an East European woman who only speaks two words of English.

Big, and Issue.
Our Big Issue seller is a young muslim woman but she knows four words: Hello, Big, Issue, Please.
I can't remember the first cause but the second one (a few days ago) was collecting for Romanian children. Both collectors had name badges with charity registration numbers etc. on their lapel. No doubt they were good causes, but not acceptable to call at my house, IMO.

I've also had telephone calls in a similar vein. Annoys me no end, that does. I get enough of those, asking me to take part in telephone surveys or trying to sell me a new kitchen.
