P**se off. Been attacked and no one believes me

Hi all,

Before I start rambling a little back history my b/f beat me up ONCE and now we are fine, got over it and happier then ever.

Problem is I got mugged today and wolloped in the face (now I have a nice big black eye and swollen cheek) The thing is my family don't believe it. The thug took my bank card so as I wasnt far from there I went to the bank to cancel the card and they called the police who took a statement over the phone and didnt come out.

Now everyone is accusing me of lying as I don't want to call the police again when in fact is I just want to forget it ever happened.

How can I make people see that

you dont need to, if they dont believe you that is there problem, sort out your bank card and buy a personal alarm.

And Jack they were called by the bank they took the details and my details so what more can I or they do? What good would it do calling them out again and wasting their time?

This is the first time something like this has happened to me and it was qute frightening so I just want it to be dropped I don't want it to be kept on about

The point being that if people can see some sort of Police involvement, they will be more willing to believe that you were mugged.
If you want to forget about it all, why is it important that other people believe you ?!?

sorry to hear you have been mugged, lala, its a good job the Bank called the Police, at least they will have it on record, so if your family want to check up, all they have to do is go along to the cop shop and check for themselves. Though, because of data protection etc, it might be a problem.

TWR I have spoken to the police not my fault they didnt come to me, But my parents want me to call them AGAIN but what are they going to do a second time?

Ask me same questions and I'll give them the same answers

if its bothering you that much just call them then! they will come round, take a statement, and end of your problem...

i think its odd that they'd interview you over the phone... from a bank... not want to take any photos as evidence, maybe forensics, etc...

and why would the bank call the police?

i understand why it sounds fishy to others to be honest...

You have got to pursue this complaint Lala, there are too many knob heads out there getting away with mugging & hitting women, if it means going to the police station, GO.

take a member of your family with you to the Police Staion, speak to the desk sargeant explain you have given a statement over the phone and tell the sargeant you are willing to attend an ID parade if they catch the guy, and is there anymore you have to do. Shouldnt take long and with family there they will know you are telling the truth and that should make everyone happy. Pls beware of delayed shock, it can happen to you ,and I hope you are feeling okay.
