clouds

i'm currently visiting south wales and I've just been outside to see what appears to be a completely horizontal line of blue cloud some distance above the horizon to ground level. i've never seen a line of solid looking cloud like this in my life before. It's at a SW direction. Can anyone else see it? The rest of the sky is virtually cloudless tonight and this phenomenon looks like a tsunami coming in towards the land.

I can see a horizontal line of clouds, but it is getting raggy now, I am looking at it from the opposite side to you, from Forest of Dean (Glos) towards Wales

Thanks carandrog. I thought I was seeing things until i got the family out to see it. I've looked up cloud formations on google, but i can't find a photo of anything resembling what i've seen tonight.
