has anyone used Easeus back up tool ? does the disc cloning feature actually do the job of transferring the entire "c" disc to a new hard drive i want to install.or is there a catch to this
its just that its free compared to acronis which is £31.95
i don't want go go through a full days installing if easeus can just transfer it

I have used Easeus stuff but unfortunately too long ago to recall much about it.

What I do recall is they had a number of different versions of the application type I wnated and when I had problems with one of the more sophisticated ones, even though I was using it free, the company were good enough to answer e-mails to try to help. At the end of the day one of their simpler software apps worked for me.

I'd suggest "sucking it and see". Can't hurt. They seem good eggs judging from my experience.

i down loaded easeus disc copy
so hoping its ok
The partition copy/cloning in their partition manager works, but the target partition must be at least the same size as the original partition, which means it is copying/cloning unused space on the partition you are copying from. Not a big deal, but it does mean it takes longer to do the job then if it was only copying the data
