did anyone ever solve the anagram weancare?
have spent hours puzzling looking, a nd even emailing american friends
also any ideas about to groove spirally, the best idea i have is -------- springs but the two in my atlas dont really fit the clue

Apparently, the original clue did not state that it was an anagram, so - given that no-one seemed able to come up with an anagrammatic answer at the time, as far as I saw - I thought it might just be the two words 'wean' and 'care'. Despite the fact that all the answers were towns or places of interest in the USA, the quiz the question was in was apparently created in Britain.
In northern parts of Britain a 'wean' is a babe and one meaning of 'care' is the word 'ruth', as in 'ruthless' = without a care.
Hence, Babe Ruth, whose museum in Baltimore was close to the designated area. At least I'd heard of Babe Ruth...I wonder how many Brits have ever heard of the ECW Arena. Cheers
