Any suggestions would be most welcome, particularly with explanations. I've had a struggle with some of the setter's logic today and I am not sure whether it's me or him.

I've just had a look at this crossword. The words 'a meal' don't appear in the clue.
Cream tea is right
institute = create around m (back from jaM & jerusaleM) + a (before a)

Hi JMR27. You are right. "a meal " appears at the end of the clue only, not in the middle as well. Guess the senior moments are kicking in again. Thanks for your help
