I know Sara but it is a complicated business and it is not worth the long winded description unless I can get to speak to someone who knows about such things and last night it was suggested to me that Trimeresurus was an ex telephone engineer who might be able to help.

I asked you last night about a Filter! have you tried one? I have a print out here, www.BT.com/faults check this out.

yes, I have a filter on each of my telephones because of Broadband..
I have tried all phones minus the filters (computer off of course) to see if it was the filters or any one of them causing the problem. I have now contacted an engineer and will have to pay for professional attention but thanks for your help.
