Has anyone experienced sore eyes etc. from cars that have air conditioning with or without climate control?

yep, air contitioning in genral makes my eyes dry out, especially when im wearing contact lenses, i use eye drops to try and mosturise my eyes.

air conditioning by its very nature removes humidity in the atmosphere it is installed to condition, the drop in RH is noticed by the eyes as we focus without frequent blinking whilst driving and the eye is dried by the dehumdification.
Do you have the vents blowing directly on your face?  Try deflecting them away from you.  I've had AC in my cars since the 1970s and have never really had any eye complaints.
