Someone has sent me a dmsd file, I think it's a slideshow of their holidays, but I can't open it. I've tried downloading different programmes but you have to pay for them and I don't want to have to do that. Any ideas please?

I think you need a (free) video convertor application to change it into something you can run. Try a search engine, see what is out there.

Or get your friend to send it in a different format.

Your friend would appear to have sent you a video project file instead of the rendered video. They need to open it with their VideoWave software and render the project to a video file and then send you the result.
