If you do not elaborate on your present situation it is difficult to suggest a solution. I ask these questions because I have been retired ( not by choice) for a few years now and I have peaks and throughs where I can get enthusiastic about something for a short while ( at present decorating) and other days I don't want to do anything but laze about and go to the pub at night and so it goes on, as anneasquith says it could a health problem so maybe you need to get it checked out. I hope this is some help to you....Good luck .S.O.G
thanks for your answer SOG - yes I had been an extremely hardworking civil servant for 40 years - never got a minute what with work and staff and now nothing. I have been blood tested for everything and thank God everything turned out normal except my cholesterol for which I was to go back to GP and of course I have got around to it. Maybe this causes the depression and lack of enthusiasm. I have an extensive amount of friends you would not believe it and they all want me to go to their houses, holidays, weddings etc and I dont go now because sometimes like last night I took vomiting and diarrhoea all night and now I am shattered so if I had have made arrangements with one of the friends to go out tonight I would not be able to make it I would be letting them down. I do need a real kick up the jacksie because I am one of those people who do feel sorry for people in wheelchairs and various disabilities and admire their enthusiasm for life - particularly those paralympics - I think they are wonderful and I am sitting on my big fat a se. I do think I suffer from severe depression but when the doctor gave me a antidepressant I suffered severe aftereffects. I probably sound a SOG but I am really a very funny and witty person when around company so I think loneliness plays a part of it too.
