HDMI from laptop to TV. Picture, no sound?

I've connected a laptop to my TV using a HDMI cable. I get a picture on the TV but the c[sound is coming from the laptop and not transferring to the TV. The laptop is running Windows Vista and the TV is a 32" LG. Does anyone know how to sort this, is it an issue with the TV or do I need to change a setting on the laptop? Any help appreciated.
