what has he actually done? Ok so he built up "amstrad" but really - what has he done lately? Also "on offer is a 50/50 partnership" - is the winner gonna put 250000 in then? What about if their business is rubbish, and the winning candidate has an idea to sell rubber women - is he really going to associate with that?

Alan Sugar is obviously quite astute, however the american version whicj pre-dates ours by a couple of years had exactly the same format including the "Your fired" thing.
If he actualy conducted business the way his TV charachter portrays it I don't think he would be a millionaire.
No nonsense and gruff I am sure he is, less than elequent for sure, stupid I think not.
Now who thinks Dot Cotton is real.

I like him. He just proves that you don't need to come from a privileged background to really make something of your life.
He was brought up in a council flat, by his parents who each had modest salaries. he started selling electrical goods from the back of a van on a market stall at the age of 17, after having left school a year earlier.
He is now worth £770m, so I think he's done pretty well for himself.
